The Greenville Housing Fund is honored to have received a $25,000 grant from the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.

The foundation awards grants to nonprofits that strive to reduce poverty throughout the state of South Carolina and beyond. GHF was part of the Breaking the Cycle category. These Breaking the Cycle grants are designed for organizations that are creating and sustaining pathways to economic mobility and self-sufficiency. The Sisters of Charity Foundation awarded $210,000 across 10 different organizations in this category. The grant from Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina will fund GHF’s resident services efforts to support residents in accomplishing their goals. “We recognize that providing affordable housing is only part of the solution in bolstering our residents and community,” said Bryan Brown, President and CEO of GHF. “We want to see our residents achieve economic mobility, and anything we can do to holistically support that is inherent in our mission.”

In this cycle of funding, the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina awarded 120 grants totaling $1,148,000 to nonprofit organizations across the state.  Forty of the 120 organizations to receive a grant are located in the Upstate –a $350,000 commitment to the region.

“We’re thrilled to announce our Cycle 2 Grantees and admire each of these incredible organizations for their dedication to building a better South Carolina,” said Donna Waites, President of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. “It’s a privilege to work alongside these organizations and the Foundation looks forward to helping make our state a brighter place for all.”

Macon Lovelace, the Chairman of the Board of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina, added, “By dedicating ourselves to the common good and embracing creative ideas, South Carolina can become a place where everyone has what they need to succeed. Our mission to reduce poverty across the state becomes a reality when we collaborate with these empowered organizations.”

These Cycle 2 grant recipients serve all 46 of South Carolina counties, and many of these nonprofits provide services across the state.

Thank you so much, Sisters of Charity, for your support!
