As Charleston, SC seeks to mitigate its own affordable housing crisis, the Charleston County Council is considering using a quarter of its American Rescue Plan Act allocation to establish its own housing trust fund. Advocates on council hope that this would be a major step toward creating a council that prioritizes affordable housing and could model that priority for Charleston residents.
