Stratham Place Apartments was an existing 88-unit apartment community located at 207 Shaw Street in Greenville. Although the property was not regulated as affordable housing, Stratham Place was recognized as an important source of “naturally-occurring affordable housing.” The goal was to renovate and preserve Stratham Place as a mixed-income development with 75 affordable units restricted to renters under 80% of AMI, and 13 market-rate units. The market-rate units are not formally income-restricted but are still at a price-point affordable for households at 80% of AMI.

The overall redevelopment included interior and exterior improvements, transforming the outdated property by improving aesthetics and by providing comfortable, energy-efficient, well-equipped units for residents.
