Greenville residents got a major win this week.
County Council passed incentives to support affordable housing at Unity Park, according to the Greenville Journal.
From the article:
Council gave final approval to a set of incentives for a project near Unity Park to include workforce housing as part of a $53.5 million multifamily housing development.
The Delano is a project planned for 101 Mayberry St. adjacent to the park and the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail. It’s slated to include 139 multifamily units, of which 28 are to be dedicated to affordable/workforce housing.
The two ordinances place the property in a multi-county industrial and business park and authorize a special source credit agreement that requires the developer, KPWT No Limit LLC, to make a minimum investment of $7.5 million and dedicate 20% of the units to affordable/workforce housing.
This support comes after County Council passed its affordable housing incentive policy in 2022.
